Social Swan Decor is proud to share its recent print feature in Tampa Magazine, highlighting a full-home transformation in South Tampa’s Virginia Park neighborhood. This Spanish and Mediterranean-style residence, redesigned for a busy family of four, captures our signature design philosophy: honor the home’s story, support the family’s lifestyle, and layer in warmth, beauty, and functionality.
The homeowners, a pediatric neurosurgeon and her physician husband, were first drawn to the home’s arched doorways, terracotta tones, and abundant natural light. But despite the architectural charm, the interiors lacked cohesion and personality. Our team was brought in to bridge that gap by elevating the home’s Old World character while weaving in the elements of tradition, family, and fun that make a house feel truly lived in and loved.
Old World Romance Meets Contemporary Living
Inspired by the home’s Mediterranean roots, our design team curated a warm and storied palette: deep blues, earthy terracottas, sun-washed reds, and natural textures layered with intention. Bouclé fabrics, rustic woods, hand-thrown ceramics, and vintage-inspired rugs created a sense of grounded elegance and visual comfort.
Throughout the home, carefully sourced and collected pieces tell a story. A hand-carved candle stand, a Moroccan bone-inlay mirror echoing the home’s arches, and a live-edge dining table the couple searched long and hard for are just a few of the meaningful details that bring the space to life.

The entryway honors the family’s no-shoe policy with custom storage lockers, while a personalized gallery wall captures their time in Texas and other cherished memories.

In the dining room, a wood table—the couple’s first major purchase together—is paired with a designer rug, statement chandelier, and curated artwork for a space made to gather and celebrate.
The kitchen remains architecturally untouched but gained warmth through vintage accessories like copper cookware and wooden accents that echo Old World charm.
